1. Översiktlig projektbeskrivning
Engelsk titel
Development of acute leukemia and myelofibrosis in essential thrombocytemiaSammanfattning av projektet
Inlagda MeSH-termer- Hemic and Lymphatic Diseases
- Hematologic diseases and diseases of the lymphatic system collectively. Hemic diseases include disorders involving the formed elements (e.g., ERYTHROCYTE AGGREGATION, INTRAVASCULAR) and chemical components (e.g., BLOOD PROTEIN DISORDERS); lymphatic diseases include disorders relating to lymph, lymph nodes, and lymphocytes.
- Thrombocytosis
- Increased numbers of platelets in the peripheral blood. (Dorland, 27th ed)
- Myeloproliferative Disorders
- Conditions which cause proliferation of hemopoietically active tissue or of tissue which has embryonic hemopoietic potential. They all involve dysregulation of multipotent MYELOID PROGENITOR CELLS, most often caused by a mutation in the JAK2 PROTEIN TYROSINE KINASE.
- Bone Marrow Diseases
- Blood Platelet Disorders
- Disorders caused by abnormalities in platelet count or function.
- Hematologic Diseases
- Disorders of the blood and blood forming tissues.
- Leukemia
- A progressive, malignant disease of the blood-forming organs, characterized by distorted proliferation and development of leukocytes and their precursors in the blood and bone marrow. Leukemias were originally termed acute or chronic based on life expectancy but now are classified according to cellular maturity. Acute leukemias consist of predominately immature cells; chronic leukemias are composed of more mature cells. (From The Merck Manual, 2006)
- Neoplasms
- New abnormal growth of tissue. Malignant neoplasms show a greater degree of anaplasia and have the properties of invasion and metastasis, compared to benign neoplasms.
- Myelofibrosis
- Replacement of the bone marrow by fibrous tissue, occurring in association with a myeloproliferative disorder or secondary to another, unrelated condition. (Dorland, 27th ed)
- Academic Dissertations
- Works consisting of formal presentations made usually to fulfill requirements for an academic degree.
